Air pollution is very big problem that is happening everywhere in the world. It kills 7 million people each year. It is good that the media is paying more attention to this problem because now more people will be aware of the damage we are doing. In Beijing an "Airpocalypse" is occurring. Particular matter less than 2.5 micrometers in diameter can penetrate the lungs and blood tissue, contributing to lung disease and premature death. In 2014 more people are being exposed to higher amount of pollution than what is considered safe. The access to clean drinking water has been increasing. One of the biggest problem in air quality is poor monitoring, it can get to expensive to monitor the air quality al the time. New Delhi is very close to Beijing in the amount of pollution in the air. Even though it doesn't seem like Beijing isn't doing anything to control the problem they are making a big effort to keep the people safe. New Delhi is more populated than Beijing, but the land is smaller. There are more monitoring stations in Beijing than there are in New Delhi. Also New Delhi reached the mark PM2.5 much faster than Beijing.
